Bali has once again been selected as the host for high-level international gatherings, reinforcing its global reputation as a premier destination not only for tourism but also for diplomacy and global collaboration. This time, the island is home to two prestigious global health forums:
The 9th Asia Pacific Leaders’ Summit on Malaria Elimination
The 2nd Global Cervical Cancer Elimination (CCE) Forum
These events are scheduled to take place from June 16 to June 19, 2025, centered in Nusa Dua, one of Bali’s most prominent and secure zones for international conferences.
🌐 Focused on Global Health Challenges
The Asia Pacific Leaders’ Summit on Malaria Elimination brings together government leaders, health ministers, global NGOs, and scientific experts who share a common goal — eliminating malaria from the Asia-Pacific region. The summit is expected to produce updated frameworks, regional commitments, and innovative partnerships.
Meanwhile, the Global Cervical Cancer Elimination Forum emphasizes the urgency of preventing and eliminating cervical cancer globally, especially in developing countries. Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), ministries of health, and women’s health advocates will present strategies and share progress updates.
Together, both forums are part of broader global health movements aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in health and gender equality.
🚨 Security Measures Led by Polda Bali
In anticipation of these high-level gatherings, the Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali) have launched Operation Puri Agung-1 2025, a coordinated effort to ensure maximum security and comfort for all delegates and stakeholders involved.
According to Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, Chief of Bali Police, a total of 475 personnel have been mobilized. The security detail includes:
Escort teams at Ngurah Rai International Airport
Route security from airport to hotels and venues
Monitoring at the forum locations in Nusa Dua
Emergency response units and mobile command centers
The Polda Bali Command Center will operate in full coordination mode, integrating CCTV monitoring, real-time communication systems, and direct coordination with national police, local government, and event organizers.
“The safety of our guests is our top priority. We aim to make this event not just successful, but also secure and comfortable for everyone involved,” said Inspector General Daniel during a security preparation briefing at ITDC Nusa Dua.
🛡️ Significance for Bali and Indonesia
Hosting these events places Bali — and by extension, Indonesia — at the heart of international efforts to address pressing health concerns that affect millions. It also highlights Bali’s:
Infrastructure readiness for international meetings
Safety and coordination excellence
Long-term positioning as a hub for not just tourism, but also global cooperation
Bali previously hosted the G20 Summit, Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR), and many ASEAN-level forums — all with strong security track records.
