Bali continues to prove itself as a top global tourist destination. According to the latest data from the Bali Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of foreign tourists in Bali 2025Ā has surpassed 2 million visits within the first four monthsĀ (January–April). This marks a 10.55% increaseĀ compared to the same period last year, signaling a strong recovery in the tourism sector.

āœˆļø Tourist Surge in April, Number of Foreign Tourists in Bali 2025

In April 2025 alone, Bali welcomed 591,000 international tourists, an increase of 25.56% compared to March. The top contributor was Australia, sending 139,481 visitors. The surge is likely due to more frequent direct flights and seasonal holidays from Australia.

šŸ‡®šŸ‡³ Indian Tourists Overtake China

One of the most interesting trends in the number of foreign tourists in Bali 2025Ā is the shift in rankings. For the first time, India has overtaken China, climbing to second place with 49,000 visitors, while China dropped to third with 45,000.

Other major source countries include the United KingdomĀ and France, contributing 32,000 and 26,000Ā visitors respectively.

šŸØ Hotel Occupancy Declines Despite Tourist Growth

Despite the increasing tourist numbers, hotel occupancy has slightly declined. The average occupancy rate for Bali hotels in April 2025Ā was 57.23%, a small drop of 0.46%Ā from the previous year.

  • BulelengĀ had the lowest occupancy rate at 24.97%

  • BadungĀ led with the highest rate at 56.70%

Foreign guests stayed an average of 2.90 nightsĀ in star-rated hotels, while domestic visitors averaged 2.43 nights.

These latest figures on the number of foreign tourists in Bali 2025Ā affirm the island’s appeal as an international holiday destination. However, the slight drop in hotel occupancy presents a challenge: how to convert high arrival numbers into longer stays and increased spendingĀ to fully revitalize Bali’s tourism economy.
